Terry and the Telstars were: Nick Knowlton-lead vocals,Pierre Nadeau-keyboards,Terry McCarthy -lead guitar,Roland Bechard- bass, Danny Caron - drums.
They are pictured on the cd front in perfect pink.
The band won a state wide battle of the bands sponsored by VOX music products which lead to a recording session in Boston in 1968.The resulting single "Reasons/Stop and Think" was unreleased until it's appearance on ArfArf's New England Teen Scene Unreleased cd in 1996.
Vocalist Nick Knowlton said the band let him in, not because he had the best voice but because "the girls liked me the best".He was involved in many projects in the Maine area. After White Fluff[interesting single],whom Terry and the Telstars evolved into,he recorded a single "Jonathan Cloud"on the EAB label and was asked to assume the song's name as his own recording name. The 'b' side "Stop and Think"was the same as "Reasons" flip-side.
He worked in the bands 'Good n plenty' and 'Katfish' during the 70s.The latter,in 1975, hit the Billboard Charts at number 52 with a cover of the Beatles "Dear Prudence." He formed 'Katahdin' in 1979, recording "Black is Black" and b/w "Hard Core Rock n' Rolla.",released in 1981.An album was also released.Pierre Nadeau, after travelling the mid-west with 'Poorboy' and later 'Sundance', joined him in Katahdin. They can now be seen playing live from that period on You Tube.
Nick has also been responsible for many local radio jingles over the years as well as other recordings.
His most poignant recording being the album he recorded in 2008 in memory of his late wife.
"Letting Go - Songs for Joye".You can hear the songs from this beautiful album at his website:

One of the great things about YouTube is how relatives of band members post here. Thanks for that[thanks Danny too] and no wonder you feel proud. This is one of the great tracks from the era and drummers are indeed backbones of a band. :)
