I think the first 30 seconds were on private land but after that it was across shared paths, roads, parkland and private farms from memory.
Seriously some of the best fun I've ever had though - 2 hours of racing across farmland, lanes, dessert, oversteering on long gravel tracks right up to a dis-used firing range complete with blown up tanks.
Was it safe? Hell no. But that's what made it more fun.
Can't remember exactly how much, something like £30 (not sure what that was in local currency).
The bikes seemed OK themselves but the safety intro consisted of the guy asking if we all had driving licenses. We all said a confident YES (even though I didn't have one), he shoved a helmet on us one by one told us which lever accelerated and which one breaked.
