Revs aren't the problem with wheelies on an ex. oil starvation is. its oil pan doesn't keep the oil where it needs to be.
-
@warwickstingray its not bad on your engine unless your an idiot that doesnt know what a red line means. bad for the clutch yes. bad for engine no.
-
@warwickstingray I would have thought most modern and quite alot of the older superbikes are fine the designer would expect riders to really give them a thrashing. The problems are limited to older cheap bikes designed more with commuters in mind. The EX is after all a budget middle weight with a bit of poke. low oil level will always increase the risk of oil starvation. I didn't mean to scare you. Go and get an old battered supersport and wheelie your ass off if you want to.

@warwickstingray Thank you for the answer.
Ok, but how can I find out wich pick up pipe are exposed and wich aren't ? Where should I ask ?
-
I couldn't tell you but any bike whos sump design means that the pick up pipe can be exposed when pulling wheelies and therefore starve the engine of oil would be best avoided. Most bikes are fine at quite extreme angles but wheelies can be that bit too far. An occasional wheelie is probably fine but practicing them or showing off by doing very lengthy ones is asking a lot.

@warwickstingray Please tell me what cheap/older bikes are good for wheelies.

Man the memories... that was my first bike!! !984 Kawasaki GPz 550

how the HELL!!!

@carsnwomen91 And dangerous if you don't practice right. I hate wheeling on my 500. Try it on a dirtbike first.
Nice! Shame the EX's sump design is not at all suited to wheelie's.
If you want long life from your engine don't wheelie. If you don't care go for it! :)
