  • Gina Mackee totally ruined this series, I mean honestly she is so insipid and plain ugly, Irene had at least three men falling over themselves for her:Mackee is frankly unbelievable! Sexless and awkward; all those beautiful costumes and they just hang on her, she has no bosom no charisma and if you ask me no acting ability! Talk about horse-face! It makes me so cross, such a waste. Nyree would be turning in her ggrave!

  • oh...Damian Lewis<3

  • I find Damian Lewis way too good looking to be a creeper and man of proverty whatever the book described Soames but who cares his acting is great

  • @oliviagiles yes ive just read the books and its supposed to be a hard-faced anal retentive and he just comes across as sexy in this series. not that im complaining though.

  • @hellowhatever69 have to agree with you on that...she was too white and too horsey........Nyree Dawn Porter was stunningly beautiful, she was from NZ and her first name was actually Ngaire, which is a Maori name but she had to change it because it was too hard to pronounce. Oh and another mistake, Soames was way too cute in this series.

  • This series is utter rubbish go watch the 1966 original.

  • @Remorselesslymine I agree with you.I think McKee were able to express inner Irene, though she didn't look like her. It is complete opposite of an earlier BBC series, when the acress' appearance was close to the book description, but she looked like a dull doll with a ton of mascara on her lashes and her performance was of very antiquated style.I wish they would make a third adaptation with actors looking like they were described and being able to really express the spirit of the book.

  • I agree that Gina McKee certainly did not match John Galsworthy's vision of Irene, but nevertheless, I think she was very memorable in this role.

  • Good series. I own it, and I usually don't do these Britsh drama. This is superb though.

  • I soooo AGREE with you

THAT LOOK IS A KILLER :)

  • I love Irene. She is so strong and beautiful.

The Forsythe Saga is definitely not a soap opera.

  • C'mon guys....You cant possibly call this a soap opera...The novel's too good to do so...Sure,yhe script is much less in quality than the novel, but still...You can't compare the script of this series to a script of other soap operas
