Please understand that what I say should be taken in a constructive way. You have the look, and all you really need is the feel. That is by definition, counting the unheard beat in your head. Otherwise it will sound pushed rather than having a natural feel, giving the musical piece a feel of lets get it over with. I don't think that is you. Having said that, it will help to work with a metronome.
