>but you do know why microsoft uses those 2 things right?
Because Apple has presented itself as a threat. That's the only reason for a company like microsoft to even respond.
Seriously, Novell made a series of commercials attacking OSX and Microsoft, yet Microsoft has as of yet to make a commercial bashing linux. Wanna know why? Because Linux isn't a threat.

>why doesn't it run in that kernel to begin with?
Well, my understanding is that some apps don't run right when it is in 64 bit kernel mode so they need to play catch-up. Combine that with the fact that the 64bit kernel gives boosts in areas that most users will have no need for.
>don't advertise that it will run in it when the user has to force i
It is there. You're not forcing it, you're choosing to run it. Apple is famous for taking transitional steps instead of jumping in balls first.

i already know about the 6 and 4 key thing. why doesn't it run in that kernel to begin with? don't advertise that it will run in it when the user has to force it.
yea 64 bit was a big change, but the point is snow leopard was just a bunch of tweaks and optimizations to leopard, as windows 7 was to windows vista.
and yes i did see the laptop hunters commercials, like once. i had forgotten about that though. so thats 2 things. but you do know why microsoft uses those 2 things right?

>64 bit kernel doesn't mean it really RUNS in that 64 bit kernel
Hold down 6 and 4 on startup. running in 64bit kernel. OR, you can set up a config file to have it start up in 64 bit mode every time.
>look it up.
I don't NEED to look it up. I already have it memorized. Fact is that the 64bit kernel was a BIG change that they made in SL.
>the only thing i've seen against apple from microsoft would be the i'm a pc commercials,
Somebody never saw the laptop hunters commercials.

64 bit kernel doesn't mean it really RUNS in that 64 bit kernel. look it up.
snow leopard is like windows 7, they've both successors that bring under the hood tweaks that enhance the OS and speed up the overall system. i'm not saying any 1 is better than the other, i'm just saying that its true. apple bashes microsoft alot. the only thing i've seen against apple from microsoft would be the i'm a pc commercials, in which they show many people of different backgrounds using a pc.

Goodness
Mac users were ticked because those commercials often times bent or even broke the truth in some of their commercials. Like that one time they showed a $1200 macbook and said it cost over $2000.
-
>and that snow leopard is sooo different than leopard when thats not true
Yeah, aside from the new 64bit kernel new array of api's and so on. Totally not true...
"..that's just asshattery." Ass hattery is an underused term.

I'll do what I can to get it into the mainstream.
