if the government was trying to take over the entire health industry, then you are correct, that might be a slightly socialist policy. however, the whole idea of the "public option" is that it offers more competition and provides options for the consumer. competition is perhaps the most fundamental american value! i dont understand why im marxist and unpatriotic because i value options and competition in the market.
