The previous generation 4-runner had more useful on mixed pavement full-time 4WD on all 4WD models. The previous model was significantly quicker, with the avialable 4.7 litter V-8, doing 0-60 in 6.86 seconds. It also had a higher towing capacity rated at 7,000 lbs. The previous model had a much better looking exterior. It weighed less & had smaller, easier to maneuver dimensions. The new trail model with KDSS is better off-road with increased front axle articulation. The new interior is better
