CECT P168 Firmware Download Demonstration

This is a demonstration of how to download the firmware off the CECT P168/P168+/P168c/P168c+ phone to your computer as a ".bin" file. It WAS next to imposable to find the firmware for this phone searching around on the internet until I made this video. That was the reason why I made this video in the first place. Now the problem is there are so many different versions of this phone out that it's important that you have the correct version. When I made this video there were only 2 types of P168's. Now there are many more. Other firmware versions may not work properly with YOUR phone due to continuous hardware upgrades by the manufacturer. This video will show you how to get the firmware off YOUR OWN phone directly. I show in a later video how to edit graphics on the phone.

The name of the software I used is called "Flash Tools v4.10." You can download it here:

The USB cable that comes with the phone CAN'T BE USED to access the firmware of the phone. You need to buy a special cable. Here's the link to where I bought it.

Hello.You have explained so well.I recieved the cable I neeeded and have done the first step to my phone. I have gone to your second video and followed it as you said. When it downloads I get this message {Brom} target baseband chip is inconsistant with MT6226BA. {ACTION}Please select the suitable bin files for for the targets baseband chip.I am now at a loss. You have to uncheck the "Check Baseband Chip" option since the mt6225 chip (which is the p168+ and the p168c) is not listed under the chip options. I believe it's somewhere under options menu.

Does the MTK All in one flash bin addeed/update any features of the phone such as apps or UI?

This video is taking about taking the firmware that's already on the phone, and copying it to your computer. However, if you had access to a updated bin file, this program could install it. I have not had success finding a bin file that would work because this company actually updates hardware as well as firmware with each new update of this phone, making it incompatible with previous versions. There is a way to change the built in graphics and I will be making a new video in about 2 weeks.

A serial cable ! Come on, the world has moved on since the days of serial ports and cables. I got recent machines here and neither has a serial port.

I suppose the software you need has to be loaded from a FLOPPY DISK.

The p168 is supposed to be cutting edge technology, and it needs a serial cable !! Jeez !

hi! i hav a haosung n3000 n it got bricked through "high speed sim" option in engineering mode, is there anyway the software can b read off the dead phone n back it up n reintall it lyk in ur other video??? It's a great phone n i miss it :-( plz get back 2 me as soon as possible, thank u :-)
