Attack on Christy Helebert Referee Mullagh v Loughrea County Semi Final 2009

The Attack on Christy Helebert after Mullagh s loss to Loughrea in the 2009 SHC Semi Final held at Kenny Park in Athenry. The Mullagh supporters were not only poor winners over the last few months but also poor losers.


Lynn Publications' HoganStand site has lost all credibility.

On Wednesday morning it removed all discussions relating to the actions of the Mullagh supporters. In the past that site has let scores of baseless claims and attacks run rampant on its site's forum pages and it had started to do the same after Sunday's match in Galway.

However, after it was proven that the Mullagh supporters actions were no where near being accurately referred to as a 'peaceful protest' by the posting of a video demonstrating some of the antics of those supporters HoganStand quickly removed the discussion.

This video gives an example of what we saw as hurling supporters in Galway. What is sadly not in the video is the physical attacks on the referee that followed his leaving the ground with a heavy Garda escort.


HoganStand - you let your site ruin the names of some players by letting faceless people ridicule players and
yet when it is the club that you are connected to being on the wrong site of proof you removed the discussions from the board. It was all going very well for Mullagh until this video surfaced. When the tide changed so did the opinions and so did - the forum's discussion of the matter. Lynn Publications are a second rate organisation.

Mullagh supporters are nothing short of animals. The club is not fit to participate in the coming years' competitions and I hope that they are severely dealt with. Thugs. Thugs. Thugs.
