The Bed That Eats People

I think the circular object moving in an arc represents the sun, and the life of the sleeper. When the sun sets, the bell rings, and the man has died.
IMHO, It would be better if the circular object stopped it's arc to become the EYE of the sleeper. it would represent the practice of putting coins over the eyes of the dead, as the price for the ferryman to take their soul over the river Styx in hell

Well, as art goes, its interesting. I assume each is hand built out of scrap parts? Oh, and thanks for the post ;)

@PhAzOnMaDnEsS101XC Thanks for the question! This one was made from some old toaster parts, bits of wire and some pieces cut from a textured steel tray. It's quite old, I made this one 19 years ago!

@geegeevindaloo Wow, looks like you went on quite a scavenger hunt for these parts for this art! Now, what I can't see is the mechanism on the inside that controls the moving arm. So thats just a spring?

@PhAzOnMaDnEsS101XC It's a bit more, a few gears and a spring, I used to buy clockwork mechanisms from Aladdin Toy Motors in NJ. Long gone, the owner passed away and they stopped manufacturing. It has a big mainspring and winds by turning the bell, Ah, I wish these were still made these days.
