Charles Lewis on truth being the first casualty of war

Charles Lewis is journalist-in-residence and professor at American University and president of the Fund for Independence in Journalism. Charles did investigative reporting at ABC News and CBS News's 60 Minutes.

good naritive on the reality that the US mainstream corp media are at minium lazy, easy too fool, ignorant of history and total cowards.

People think that the old style pre-cold war to cold war style propaganda is dead. I think not. It has instead, morphed into the present day media where corporations who fund the presidential elections also fund the media and thus serve as the medium for propagandic style reporting. The news channels won't want to report anything that results in a removal of their funding, and so their reports and coverage is entirely political, without any semblance of a political stamp of approval.

The media had been failing its job for the last 50 years ...and they continue to. We were disturbed by what the media slammed into our head...Ive heard this fella say some wise things in the past..but he is letting the media off the hook here. The media were implicit in selling this war...they are as guilty as those in congress who continually vote to fund it.

There where journalist that reported the deconnect between Sodom Hussain, alqiada and WoMD, they where shut-down. Journalist where ostracized by the administration and the companies that own the media outlets. Look what they did to Joe Wilson and his wife Valery Plain when he reported imformation contrary to the Whitehouse propaganda pump.
