Your comment wasn't that offensive, so there was no need to remove itt. But you are correct in SUGGESTING (as I am) that the vast majority of abortions are not down to rape. But its wrong to assume women are flippant about contraception and indifferent to the life/death of their unborn child. The fact that no contraception is 100% effective is surely a factor. Alcohol, diet, drugs (legal and illegal) are other contributing factors.

  • @bluestars982 Abortions as a form of birth control are impractical-it suggests a woman has an abortion pretty much any time she has sex. Im not suggesting women who feel abortion is their only option were dragged into an alleyway by a thug and forcibly impregnated. I mean girls forced into the slave trade, girls abused by members of their own families. Would anyone here have denied Elisabeth Fritzl the right to an abortion? Her deranged father certainly didn't believe she deserved contraception.

  • @Littlemiss134 How often do women get abortions because they were raped and how often do women get abortions as a form of birth control?

  • @bluestars982

...and when we're attacked, overpowered and raped? How far can we defend ourselves? What do we do-stay inside, lock our doors and never leave the house? Never go to school, or to work, or send our daughters there either? Or all we all 'asking for it' when we do? Your remark 'keep your panties on and your legs shut' makes a pretty sweeping and insulting assumption about women's sexuality.

  • Abortion is murder. If women didn't want to get pregnant, use a condom (there are condoms for both men and women), get on the pill, do other sexual acts not involving penetration, or keep your panties on and your legs shut. In other words, THINK before you act. There are consequences to your actions. make sure you understand what they are ahead of time and that you are able to handle them. If you can, don't commit the act. It's really quite simple.

  • Abortion is a basic right of an individual. I don't think of it as a feminist issue. It is a human issue. It is a danger to tell women they cannot have an abortion. Rape, physical health, mental health and the effects of over populations and unwanted unloved children affects everyone. It affects us all. Nobody can tell me what I do with my body, no matter if YOU think a fetus has individual rights. It does not. It is part of me and I have a right to abort or give birth.

  • What you are doing is not helping women. It's helping the sexual predators who got them pregnant avoid paying women twenty years of child support, arrest for sex crimes against women, and adulterous spouses cover up unsafe sex risking death by AIDS which has killed more women so far than the Vietnam War and 911 put together. You are also killing 6 million future taxpayers and voters every four year Presidential term creating the Social Security and Medicare crisis for your own reptilian greed,
