Cziffra was Liszt reincarnated, the Heifetz of piano. oh how i wish i could have met you, or seen you perform... all the greats died before my generation, atleast there is still Kissin and Argerich. Lang Lang....ehhhhh

I know. Both did that during their studio-recordings, as well.
Why ? I don't know.
Arcadi Volodos once played this Toccata for me and he did that too.
Why ? "Because Cziffra did it!"
So, perhaps Cziffra did it, "Because Barere did it" ??

I was at that concert. I was seventeen years old. The applauds at the end of the recital lasted a good half-hour. But I heard him play this Toccata much better later in his life.
