In recognition of Cervical Health Awareness Month, Mandy Moore is teaming with The Gynecologic Cancer Foundation and GlaxoSmithKline to raise awareness about cervical cancer. (Jan. 26)
@AgentGustavo and that just sucks.Isn't it supposed to be "WE the people"?...or JUST americans then. Not arguing with you, just saying. It pisses me off.SO many people in need...geez..
Cervical Cancer is NOT the leading cause of death in women.
According to Seer.cancer.gov, 0.68% of women will be DIAGNOSED with cervical, 1 in 147 women. About 11,000 will DIE from cervical cancer, yet 432,000 women will die from a heart disease. Do the math. Oh, and cervical cancer is the 2nd most common reason for death in UNDEVELOPED countries.
The second leading cause of cancer death among women in the 20's and 30's? How far is it down the list on causes of ANY death in women in general? I'd wager, not very high. It can be easily cured by removing the cancer and/or removing the uterus. As long as you get your pap smears, it's very easy to detect early when an outpatient excision of the cancer is done. And now there's a vaccine against HR HPV, which causes it. I think your resources could be better spent elsewhere, Mandy.
