My fish got fin rot and it started going onto its scales so I didn't think it would make it. In the middle of the winter where the snow was really deep my dad drove me to the pet store and got some medicine. It was all natural. I didn't think Marble was going to make it. But he fought and it was a miracle. Today he is happy and healthy and fin rot free. I'm so glad u care so much about ur fish and that it is helping

hey srry to inform you, but lip stick will never get her tail back... once the fin rot has reached the base of the tail and starts to get at the tissue the tail will never grow back but great job! i could hav never thought of putting a goldfish in a sling! also btw make sure you keep an eye on her and that the " fin rot" doesnt become "body rot" in other words just make sure her body doesnt start to rot
-
Ah, what you have done to help her is Amazing! ;)
One of my Goldfish has fin rot, but luckily i got the meds she needed and her tail is growing back!
It was badly frayed, and my other tank mates were biting at her tail, which made it worse ;(
If the fin rot has advanced the full length of the fin and is threatening the body, this procedure would need to be accompanied by a course of suitable antibiotics.
Does the tissue grow back? In minor cases where only the fin tissue is affected it probably will, but in more advanced cases, particularly if the fin rays (bones) are affected, the chances of re-growth are slim

Some hobbyists feed their fish peas to treat this infection. Perhaps this works by helping in the digestion process. Try this: stop feeding the fish for a few days, give the fish optimal water conditions by performing frequent small water changes (10% every week) and see if the problem clears up.
