@Azragar ... They wrote it in the little book. That this was song was 'the courting between the band and their fans'. It was about people that went up to them and said they sold out when they made IOAM. It was really sad, so that whole album is bittersweet for them.

I highly doubt it, because in most interviews Emery says the value the opinion of their fans and for that reason, they changed it up a bit for ...In Shallow Seas We Say. However, if you look at the song as a whole, it is quite possible that this song is about that. One of those things you'll never know I suppose :)
