I'm about as far away from Texas you can get, live in southern Sweden. But it's not where you're born, it's where your soul lives. I grew up on genuine country music, woke up in my cradle to the voice of hank Williams, and my dad would take his guitar and sing Wille Nelson to put me to sleep. Got my first guitar when i was 9, the first tunes i learned were Waylons. RIP Waylon, you're missed. Then again, wherever he is, i don't think he's resting, he's kicking ass.

I think the only one on the show circuit that still personifies this music is Jamey Johnson and maybe a hand full of others. But like the good ol boys(Waylon, Willie, Johnny, etc) he lived the life he sings about.

@Dontreportabug it aint a yankee thing anymore we northerners love this music just as much as you southerns much love from upstate NY

I read a lot about how Country Music has lost its way. Well, Country Music has lost its way in Nashville, but go to Austin or any small honky tonk in Texas and there you'll find Country in its purest form. We Texans haven't forgotten and we're not bound to forget. Pure Country Music is our heritage; it's our culture.
