The recitative has no "fuoco", there are impulses that must be conveyed, as Norma is trying to cover her passion as well as guide her people. The pacing is studied and here rhythms are monotonous. There are notes that are hurled as much as sung – "e scritto il nome" and so on. Other than that, Radvanovsky is a world-class talent with amazing musical gifts, and in a few more seasons she will be a great Norma. Her Leonora paved the way for this, and I wish this beautiful young artist every joy!

It used to be that great singers could try out roles in provincial cities like Oviedo, far away from critics and the scrutiny of the cognoscenti. Not today when someone carries in a tape recorder and then its posted on You Tube. Remember this is NOT La Scala. It is not even Trieste. Who knows what shape she was in the night of this performance? She might even have been under the weather. Moreover the recording is PRIMITIVE. I, for one, think it a valient effort. It is, afterall, a tryout.

I have great appreciation for Sondra's work. I saw her live in a Tosca production last year and she was incredible. I only think she should improve her coloratura before singing further Normas. This is an excellent effort, nonetheless.

AH! A NEW KID ON THE BLOCK, A DEBUT PERFORMANCE FOR ME, SOUNDS RICH, BUT WHAT DO 1 KNOW? RESONANCE IS THERE, VOLUME, PHRASING EXCELLENT, WE ARE SERVED A GROANING TABLE OF TALENT FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD, WE
SHOULD BE GRATEFUL, AND ALWAYS REMEMBER OUR GRATITUDE TO THE COMPOSER. OFTEN FORGOTTEN.

i want sondra's voice to sound more free. sometimes she sounds as if she is pushing too much. but otherwise this is a nice first norma.
