The house used for the Old house was called "Spratt Mansion" and it burned down many years ago

@nellis77 You're thinking of the 'MAIN HOUSE'. This one is the Barnaba's house that is smaller - although huge - and is the same one that has been used in several other movies such as 'DEATH BECOMES HER'.

Beautiful place! I just got back from spending 5 glorious days & nights in the house this past Halloween, and all I can you is that it's more beautiful inside then ever, They are restoring the place and it's just grand!

Just say this house on ghost huntres (taps) last night. Was great to see and remember the show and learn the history of this house.

I'm not sure what you mean by Main House? This Newport location is from the Dark Shadows series, yes Barnabas stayed in the old house which apparently was close by. I'm not sure where that location is. I did get to Tarreytown, NY this past summer and saw the house from the 1970 movie, House of Dark Shadows.

Good question, it is actually the backside, if you remember the tv series this is the shot you would see, it's a great location, the ocean is behind you. The front is unimpressive from what I remember, looks nothing like the back.

You actually stayed in the Collins Mansion? Did you know somebody there? that is awesome I always wanted to go inside and check it out, you are so lucky!

The movie won't be out till next year, don't know what location they are using, hopefully it will be the one here based on the tv series, Dark Shadows.

The house is located on Ruggles Ave, off of Belluvue , not to far from the Breakers mansion, only problem is this was taken last yr, I went there a few weeks ago and the hedges are so high like 10 ft it is hard to get a good view of the house.
