@GHxx1 They wanted you to buy two OSes and two copies of Photoshop. Simple as that.

Any layer can be selected from the layer palette before launching the plug-in. It can be 2D or 3D. It will create a new layer if you choose Launch from New Layer, but an existing layer still needs to be selected in order for the plug-in to be enabled.
