O'leary wasnt the best manager leeds had because he never won a bean - obviously it was Don Revie - who won the title twice, FA Cup, League Cup and Fairs Cup twice. Oleary spent a lot of money and won nothing. In that respect he was a failure and deserved to go. The reason Leeds fell into the lower divisions was a result of overspending in the Oleary (and Venebals)/Ridsdale era. Ridsdale and OLeary bankrupted Leeds and almost wiped them off the face of football with arrogant overspending.

He's going on about how you can't go on moaning or regretting things, as in everything that was happening at the time. That's because it didn't matter as much to him! If it was anyone else, they would've cared more about it. You can tell in the way that he talks that in the long run, he didn't really care about it that much, as long as he got out. Once it really got bad, he figured, 'well, now's my chance.'
