Ambassador James B. Cunningham addressed a conference on 15 Years Since the Peace Treaty Between Israel and Jordan at Hebrew University on Monday, October 26. The Truman Institute for the Advancement of Peace and the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs jointly organized the conference. Ambassador Cunningham spoke and chaired a session entitled The Israeli-Jordanian Peace: From Theory to Practice, with the Jordanian Ambassador to Israel Ali Al-Ayed and Israeli Ambassador to Jordan Jacob Rosen. In his remarks, Ambassador Cunningham praised the vision and courage of the late King Hussein and the late Prime Minister Rabin. He noted the U.S. role in the agreement and related the process to current efforts to reach a two-state solution between Israelis and Palestinians.
