He probably drinks before every show cause he gets nervous, much like Janis Joplin had to get drunk too. Hope he's found a good balance.

I hope so too. He's got an amazing voice I love him so much! I guess the getting drunk before every show is just part of him. Lets just hope it doesn't ruin him.

@mafy019 yeah wasted! I'm not sure why though...once when I saw him about 3 years ago he was sober but faced completely away from the audience when he got into it. He also seemed a bit embarrassed when he was singing lyrics to do with sex bless him
