What's stupid is she said he hadn't been jumped in 2 years, and then after she saw how people were commenting she added "JUST KIDDING. He had been free jumped and I had jumped him for months before this." Yeah right. That's why he was refusing and you fell. You should be jumping 0 feet if you don't know this.

Also this is not the worst fall. It may be YOUR worst fall, but if it were the worst EVER, you and your horse would have died.

with the utmost respect, its not safe to jump a horse that has hardly jumped in a long time over that height, is not only hard on the horse but quite dangerous. from not being jumped those muscles used for jumping arent properly built and he quite simply cannot maintain a secure form over the jump. thats why his hind end dropped early the first couple times, and he looked like he was "heaving" over the jumps. just letting you know in a respectful tone, it would be best if you didnt do that.

If those are 55 gallon drums it is.

a 55G are three feet tall and two feet wide.

Add another 3" for the pole.

that s nt where close to 3'3".... its like 2'6"..... some poeple may not know that that was not 3'3" but i do and i jump horses and i can tell you now..... that was not a high jump AT ALLL!

Well why do you try starting of with little jumps it might help build up his confidence a bit as your bringing him back into work, my horse hasnt been jumped in a year so im bringing him back in slowly dont rush him, you dont want to end up with a very un happy horse .... hope this helps xxx

Learn how to ride, get a trainer, please dont ever jump your horse like this again. start with crossrails, and small verticals for at least a month.
