F/A-18F Super Hornet Demonstration
VFA-106 "Gladiators"

2008 NAS Oceana Airshow
NAS Oceana, Virginia
Saturday September 20, 2008

IN THIS VIDEO, watch as this Super Hornet is put through its paces in a vapor-filled low show over NAS Oceana. I apologize for the poor video quality, as I was trying my best to get the best video under VERY WINDY conditions, which persisted through Saturday night.

Like what you've seen? Well, if you are interested in purchasing DVDs of specific aircraft and/or of airshows, interested in anything and everything related to airshows (where the jet teams will show up, all airshow performers, airshow reports from airshows I have attended, previews of airshows I will be attending, etc.), a much more easier to navigate "version" of all of my videos, and/or everything there is related to aviation - including spotting guides to my favorite airports and military bases and aircraft factfiles, please take time to check out Steve's Airshow World at http://www.stevesairshow.com .

  • the explosion was awesome. I was in the third row at that air show.

  • Well yea but in the navy you dont just flyyou also have to sail etc. unlike in the airforce if your a pilot that your main job and I like flying mainly

  • if the air force doesn't buy them, you may want to try Naval aviation.

  • Awesome I love the F/A-18F and I would like to go into the airforce!

  • that was a great high speed pass...very fast...the vapor was very cool also

  • LT. General Craig McKinley, head of the U.S. Air National Guard is considering buying F model Super Hornets to replace his elderly F-16's & F-15's. As the F-15 & F-16 new builds are no longer availiable. the last time the Air Force bought Navy aircraft was the F-4 Phantom. Air force is also currently using EA-6b Prowlers since they retired their EF-111 Ravens.

  • what a plane!! the vapor made it look great aswell

  • that was so nice

  • Great video! I would love to take one for a little stick time.

  • This is the coolest video I have ever seen.

I live 133 miles to the "air capital of the world", which is Wichita. They have some pretty awesome airshows. This helps make me very determined to attend the next one.

    Very cool. Bravo!
