  • You do realize that you all rock. Thank you all for your dedication and sacrifices. It really means a lot to myself and others. It was sure nice to see 12 in the video. I hope LVFD keeps him. How was that parade? Did anyone get videos? My son was with LVFD in the parade. I am sure proud of all of you. KEEP ROCKIN \m/

  • @DJDFW Thanks for the comment. I'm unsure about 12. The last I heard, it was at an auction and a private buyer (for the LVFD) was trying to buy it. I'm unsure if anyone got any videos. Plenty of pictures, though.

  • i looked at st. mary's college. wasn't my thing though, but beautiful area. how many tornadoes do you get and respond to? i noticed like 50 sirens around there. when i visited, my dad and i noticed what kind of looked like little places to stand under along the road. are those used for anything in particular? yay MD in general! especially vfds.

  • We actually don't get many tornadoes. >1 a year, for the most part. This year, we had two confirmed tornadoes, albeit minor.

The siren system was upgraded a few years ago -- and it's an improvement over what was there. The little places you saw are actually bus shelters. They're for people to stand under while they wait for the county bus or if kids are there, the school bus. It's basically an inclement weather protector for people.

  • @xthemwordx i think u saw the alerting sirens for an emergency at the nuclear power plant. there are sirens located all over calvert and st marys incase of a meltdown or anything.

  • @ryan394raley What's up man, did you guys quit getting videos or what? Can't take videos anymore cuz you gotta ride the front seat? Haha.
