A Wordless Definition: What is Democracy?

This video attempts to define democracy without words. It shows how democracy has influenced our world by using specific countries as examples. The movie illustrates how the countries were prior to learning about, and in some cases adopting the principles of democracy. Within the video, the examples are intended to show that there is not one single definition of democracy. Democracy is not limited to voting or elections, but rather it is something much larger, a way of thinking. Some may say it is allowing the people to control their government, but in some cases such as in Iraq, we see that the effects of democracy influences the Iraqi people to tear down the statue of their oppressor, Saddam Hussein even though they were not a democratic nation.
