The 20th Century Chicago Stories: Deaf Lives and Experiences is an original resource on the local history of Deaf people and events of the Deaf community in the Chicago area. It is a preservation of the experiences of Deaf community as we span through the time; their perspectives must be recorded as history as with all segments of society. This may be true for all segments, but it is especially most efficient to video-record and interview Deaf individuals of times gone past, and do research before too much time is lost. As we all appreciate, the elderly members of any community are a valuable source of knowledge, wisdom, information and stories. And the elderly members of the Deaf community are no different.
