@13555pen89ce9 You should look for a Remington Rand, a war era model, or a Sig Sauer 1911, I hear great things from both. Those Rock Island's have alot of mim parts and cast slides, but if you don't shoot 1000 rounds a month out of it, I think it'd be a great choice for the money.

@13555pen89ce9 You get what you pay for I guess, Did it have a warranty? Did you try to buy a target barrel for your model size? Sorry to hear that, maybe you could try to bench rest, or gun vice testing it to see if it isn't human error.

@Sting3733 Thats pretty sad, most indoor ranges are 25 yards, and my first time pistol shooting, I shot my grandpa's Remington Rand Nam era 1911 at 75 yards, and I kept a soda can bouncing. That was 12 years ago.

@Sting3733 It was actually a ricochet that bounced off the target holder.. Besides who actually goes to a range and only shoots at 7 yards? The goal here was a news story, not accuracy.
