@dollfacebarbie, I wish I had seen your video before I took my internship, you gave some great advice

@Dezzina19 I learned a few things, but not as much as I would have liked, I really didn't want this particular internship from the start but I took it b/c I waited too long to find one and this was the only thing left, I wanted the one at april marin which was in public realtions but they weren't taking anymore interns, so my advice to college students is not to wait until the last minute to get an internship b/c you may end up with something crappy

@Dezzina19 , I felt like I was doing more receptionist work, than really work in fashion, it was an internship in sales, My supervisor did most of the selling work, while I did other stuff. I felt uncomfortable b/c my supervisor always made me feel like what I was doing was wrong, after like only 3 weeks I wanted to leave but my counselor said I would fail if I left in the middle, but my supervisor had threatened to fail me at one pt, but she didnt she gave me and 80 at the end

I just recently finished school, I am receiving my BA in fashion marketing and management, although I am glad that I got to know and understand the business part of the fashion industry, I have always been more interested in the designing part of fashion, when I took my internship I worked in a showroom, I steamed clothes, ran errands, answered the phone, made calls, and even vaccumed floors and watered plants, I hated my internship!

I want to study marketing and hopefully work in the Fashion industry in the future the university I applied to has internships with Michael Kors, Phillip van heusen, teen vogue, ae outfitters, conde nast. I just had a question, I know I must maintain my image and I always dress fashionable but I'm not rich so I don't exactly own Dior, Prada, Marc Jacobs, Nina ricci, etc. So, usually my clothes are from Forever 21, Charlotte Russe, some boutiques, etc. Will that matter too much??

@cupcake12418 i would also suggest maybe get a retail job, it is good practice & also a very important part of the industry. if your high school offers a course related in fashion take it. i hope this helps.

@cupcake12418 i would say start planning now to attend a college related in the fashion field you are interested in. the earlier the better. then once you are in college do as many fashion related internships as you can. since you are in high school it is hard to do much of anything since most fashion related places want people in the college level.
