Contraception is the Cause

Perhaps the single most glaring error on the part of many bishops in the west has been the utter failure to preach boldly on the issue of contraception. It is the single most important issue screaming for attention - and the most ignored.

These Vortex videos remind me of why I left the Catholic Church in favor of secular humanism.

Michael, you said, "God love you." I'm afraid you are gravely mistaken. This so-called "God" can't love me because I'm gay, but that's fine. If God hates me, then I hate God, so everything balances out.

So, yes, you did. There is nothing wrong with asking us to do more - if you want that done, then it is good to ask others to do it if you feel you cannot do something yourself and / or want people to help / work with you.

I have to admit, watching these videos is very discouraging. I have watched every singe video from 9/28/2010 (when I first found them) through today. I agree with their content but it seems hopeless. And I know that all things are possible with God, but after watching these videos I can't help but believe that this Church is finished and hopefully out of its ashes some time in the future, will rise again, God willing.

Your work is not the problem, secular humanism is, I get it.

@beingcatholic Many people would agree with you; the visible Church in the west (especially America and Canada) is not going to continue as it has done before. But, historically, the Church has ALWAYS been an underground, furtive organization - not some great power. It is only in the Christian West this has ever been the case. The purpose of the Church is not strength, but rather salvation - and THAT will always be available.

Each of us must seek salvation through the Church, that is the goal.

@ieaiaio9 You left the Church because it refuses to condone your selfish, sinful lifestyle - instead of you conforming to the authority of the Church. Your way is much easier, but will damn you to hell if not repented.

But you are definitely correct - you do "hate God". Enough to rebel against Him and live sinfully. Hatred is a hideous emotion that will bring you nothing but pain, and rebelling against God will only mask that pain for awhile.

God does love you - so much He died for you.

Michael, thank you for being a bright shining light in a sea of darkness. It is true that I have never heard from the pulpit the evils of contraception and birth control. I have even heard the opposite in marriage prep. Now as a father of 6, with the last child being born when I was 48, we see often low key and sometimes very direct persecution for our living the faith openly. We must be the church militant. I have begun telling my children to be prepared for the coming persecution.

Well said michael! You honed in on the homosexual issues related to contraqception. I've also come to the conclusion that pro-life pursuits that do not have an active opposition to contraception are also futile. Ignore natural law in one area and blindness results in virtually all areas of natural law. Keep preaching the truth!

You missed the Health Care industry who no longer teaches proper "MORALS" in ones private life ...in fact they follow the "wrap-it-up" slogan...disgusting.

In Germany the end of righteousness came with the so called "Königsteiner Erklärung" which called for "meaningful" ways to inform about contraception. Humanae Vitae was unmeaningful to those then bishops.
