@jakeenan HA right, "health issues". did you see the performance that was on HD net? she was fuckin high out of her head. and her band was just disgustingly good. and yea... i think i'm mainly not digging the drummer on this vid. sounds like a really good rock drummer trying to play R&B.

@zooby11isbambam Fair point....still think you're wrong on that score though. I've seen her live a bunch of times over the years and she used a number of them cats at various times and they always delivered...even when Chaka couldn't quite knock it out the park, due to.....health issues.

@jakeenan the fact that she never puts a sub-par band together makes it even more strange to me. they sound very stiff. it's not really "chaka" status. You can't just say, "well they're pretty ok, and they're trying their best" because that is not the quality of musicians that are generally associated with chaka's music. for chaka this IS sub par. just the band, not chaka. she kills it, as always.
