This road is normally closed to bicycling, but due to the record snowfall, the road is being opened in 2011 later than it ever has before. Because of this, the National Park Service opened it to hikers and bicyclists, for a once in a lifetime ride. The road opens July 13th and I was able to ride it on each of the days 7/9-7/11. Because I wasn't adjusted to the altitude, I only made it up the hill 2 miles day 1, then 7 miles day 2 (to the tunnel), on day 3 I cheated and took the shuttle to as high as it went, and rode the extra 2 miles ups, then the 9+ miles decent. Was awesome! This is part 2 of 2, the last 7 miles.
