Ariadne's Thread- the movie

Overall Synopsis: This story brings the classical myth of Ariadne, the Minotaur and Theseus into the present-day United States. It addresses the exploitation of immigrants from south of the border, as well as the personal impact of cultural shifts caused by increasing immigration. This love story includes comic and tragic elements, and explores the dynamics of power within families, couples, corporations and society.

Parameters: An experimental broadcast/theater quality video using techniques of cinema verite, found objects, documentary footage, surrealism and ultra-realism. Actors have improvised each scene several times, in many cases using the advantages of a two camera shoot.



Above all, the myth of Ariadne, Theseus and the Minotaur is a love story that places the complex relationship between exploiter and exploited in high relief.
Theseus weaves his way through the devious labyrinth of the undocumented worker and finds an ally in the most unexpected place- the bosom of his enemy.

As the relationship of Ariadne and Theseus develops, it threatens to destroy the corporate empire which her father built, using his wife's money and connections.
