Bhutan Travel - Land of the Thunder Dragon

In Nov. 2008 we toured Bhutan for two weeks. We chose Bhutanese Travel agency, Bara Lynka Tours and Travel (www.BaraLynka.com) to arrange our trip. The focus of our journey was on people, places and festivals. We had a wonderful time and highly recommend Bara Lynka, especially for smaller groups.

Overall, did the people of bhutan made you feel welcome, like a guest?

Can you share some customs that they have that we don't know about?

@elementaldragon244 Yes, very welcome! They really frown on cigarette smoking and it is illegal to sell cigs in the country.

thanks for uploading it. awesome. did u take a direct flight to bhutan or used west bengal as a transit point?

@rshi69 There is only one airline that flys to Bhutan, Druk Air - You can catch the plane from Kathmandu (we did), Delhi, Bangkok, Kolkata, Bagdogra, and Dhaka (originating from Bangkok). No other flights in. All land at Paro.

@RicardoEgana You must pay a set amount per day. I believe it is $250 per person per day now. But that does include everything: Hotels, transportation, guiding services, rafting (if you choose), food everything but alcoholic beverages.
