They attack from the sky using the element of surprise. The United States Airborne is an elite part of the U.S. military.

  • @blackyblackblack505 they shouldnt let immature fags like you in the military

  • @militarybarbietm A recruiter's job is to get you to enlist. He is not morally obligated to tell you the truth. If you want to really figure out what life is like in the military, talk to someone who isn't paid to get your signature.

  • @YOURSTRUELYHORATIO I agree with what you said. The main difference between the marines and regular 'leg'(non- airborne) units is that the discipline in the marines is stricter than in the leg outfits. On the other hand ,the discipline in the Airborne units specially the 82nd Airborne is extremely strict.

  • @DumbHonkie1 this is true but also realize that a lot more people go into the army then the corps. Many of those that drop out have existing issues and opted for the army thinking it lacked the intensity of the corps. also the corps has a tendency to draw individual with slightly more personal drive then the army. dont get me wrong, i luv the army but i know the corps is still more difficult. but yes i agree. becoming a paratrooper is far more difficult then attaining the tital of us marine

  • @militarybarbietm ???? hmmm. well females can jump out of airplanes, but not be a paratrooper. i still don't think females can fight within the 82nd or 101st, let alone be a standard infantryman.

  • @NatedogJr are you serious?! my recruiter told me I can! :(

  • The traning of the 82nd Airborne's Parachute(Airborne) Infantry is extremely hard. They are experts in raid, ambush. urban warfare, airfield seizure tactics and many more . Most of Parachute(Airborne) Infantry Paratroopers are Ranger- qualified and or Pathfinder-qualified and or sniper-qualified and or Air Assault- qualified and many more. In their capabilities, these 82nd Parachute(Airborne) Infantry guys are just below the Rangers and way above the marine infantry.

  • Passing the jump school is the easiest part of being a Paratrooper. The school only teaches you how to jump out of a plane, nothing more.If you are physically in good shape and have no fear of heights, then you wouldn't have any problem passing it. The real hard traning starts when you get to an Airborne unit. The washout rate in an Airborne units is very high. If you don't meet your Airborne unit's standards, you will be thrown out of the Airborne unit into a leg unit very fast.

  • When I went to the jump school, there were 4 marine recons. Two of them failed it. One marine couldn't keep up with the runs and the other marine froze at the door of an aircraft. According to DOD statistics, Army basic trainng dropout rate is 13.6% and the marine boot camp dropout rate is 11.7%. So the Army's basic training dropout rate is higher than that of the marine boot camp. Jump school dropout rate is about 28%. Becoming a Paratrooper is a lot harder than becoming a marine..
