Madain Saleh,located northwest of Saudi Arabia, according to the Holy Quran was inhabited by the Thamud around 3000BC,to whom was sent Prophet Saleh PBUH. The Nabateans settled here around 2000-1000BC.They left behind great archeological elements. Here you can also see Hejaz Railway (est. early 1900s) buildings.

sorry 300 SR is rent for triple bed room in arac al ula hotel.
Transport into the site varies, one big GMC cost us 600SR for 4 hrs, but it was a huge one with capacity of 15 ppl, but there were 3 of us only, so it was our loss. so cost will be 400 - 500 per person.
Look for budget hotels .. around 100SR
From madina it is highway 15, after khyber take next major exit ( leftwards ) for Al Ula (highway 328)
