Twin screw, Bayliner 4588. No bow or stern thruster used, I'd use them if I had them ;)

  • Seems bigger than 45 foot

  • @kidthing1119 It is! 53 length over all. 45 at waterline.

  • im gonna have to call bull shit. i have a 1981 chris craft catalina 381 and just by using my shifters that wouldnt be east. and at the end how does the boat just snug up to the dock?

  • @pectamedi The forward momentum is still there, although the boat is side ways. A little port side reverse will pull the stern in.

  • Awesome job, having more knowledgeable skippers such as yourself would make the dock a much safer and less stressful place to be. I think the new generation of skippers' motto is "When in doubt, more bow thruster." Great job at disproving that in this video, very smooth work.

  • Great job. This is actually a pretty simple maneuver with twin screws. Takes some practice but once you get it down it's pretty simple. Absolutely easy to do without the aide of thrusters. The only challenge is if there is a wind blowing from the dock out. Then you may have to throw out a bow line then pivot with this approach.

  • Very nice job i give you alot of respect and credit but try attempting such manuvers with single screw its not nearly as easy.

  • Nice side walk, good timing.

  • ...and you motors stall just as you approach head-on...whoops

  • That bow looks like it's never ever touched the dock - even though this manouever must have been done scores of times . The bow can't be more than 6 inches away from the woodwork before the turn starts

.... Sure, there no tidal stream and no wind to factor in - but even so this is mightily impressive boat handling. ....I am just in awe.

  • @dennyrs4 As long as one engine is ok, a hard reverse should stop the momentum.
