  • Same as mine again :) just done slightly different form wise. Do you by chance do wansu or shinto??

  • looking at the performance of this kata, it seems that you are bouncing too much, you do have some pretty good hand techniques

  • This is great, normal speed then the slow motion and especially with the bunkai.

It really helps my son have a better understanding of the kata.

  • Part 2: About arms, the negative arms are placed very wrong (too low on the hip bone and very loose, therefore there won´t be any power in the blocks and hits.

So, technically I completly disagree with this video, because after almost 30 years of Karate (in February 2011 will be 30) I can rekon good moves. There is a lot of good and bad videos in youtube, so hopefully people can recognize good karate do (this video is not the case).

  • I don`t want to be disrespectful, but truly I didn`t like at all how Naihanchi Shodan is performed in this video. The movements and positions of this kata has been changed dramatically (for the worst) from the original kata. The most important position of this kata is the kibadachi, which originally is more opened and lower in order to have a strong and powerfull stance. Here I can see the opposite: feet too much close together, with no kime at all. Arm moves are terrible. To be continued

  • Again, thank you. Very helpful and greatly appreciated!

  • You are a wonderful instructor!! Please continue creating more kata videos--they are an excellent training tool for me.

    Thanks!

  • Thanks for putting up these videos. You are awesome and are helping me greatly with my training!

  • Thank you- very helpful!
