  • Sounds a LOT like the old bamboo from Chitty chitty bang bang... in fact... I think it might be the same song.

  • @Meguas2 lol

step in time, step in time, everybody step in time

me old bamboo, me old bamboo better never bother with the old bamboo.

    same song.:)

  • whats the point of this song

    theres no reason for it

theres no point to this song

what was it supposed to add? It has nothing to do with the movie at all

    this just scares me...

  • which is why it wasn't in the movie.

    Thats why it was deleted.

It would only make sense if the visited the chimpanzoo later.

showing off with their top of the line animation effects.

  • dude, I just realized some crazy shit, I was watching the Bonus Features on the Mary Poppins DVD, saw this clip and I was thinking, dude, I've heard this melody before. Turns out I was right, this melody is used in the film Little Nemo Adventures in Slumberland, as the song Etiquette. Both film's scores were done by the Sherman Brothers so there's no doubt about it (even tho the films were released decades apart). I could upload it if there is enough interest I guess.

  • Sounds very interesting, the Sherman brothers recycled a lot of their unused Mary poppins songs for other movies. Please upload it

  • RIP Bob Sherman...

  • @nuclearzeon

Yes, especially if this were put in the movie. It would defiantly be a Big-Lipped-Alligator-Moment, used or unused.

  • Lemme guess.

    Big-Lipped Alligator Moment?

  • @kamala0tashi I knew that. My teacher read it to me and my classmates in school, when I was a kid. :)

  • so catchy, but omg, this would be terrifying to see animated.

humans behind bars giggling while animals in waistcoats throw popcorn at them and laugh?

love the song, but i'm glad they cut it

  • Seesh, this is a weird song. And the idea of a reversed zoo (the animals looking at the humans in the cages) has been done.

  • @emrabt They wrote the songs for Chitty Chitty as well as Mary Poppins, Chitty started filming before mary poppins was released, so if this song got cut and the shermin brothers wrote it, they could use it again as they pleased, I mean if its their own song no copywrite issues!

  • I can see why it didn't make it into the movie. It added nothing, and would have only worked if they visited the zoo. Besides, the effects needed for the anmals just for this scene would have been costly and difficult.
