Arrows are fired at 20 and 25 yards in this math video. The data is used to determine an algebra parabolic equation for the trajectory. Then the parabola equation is tested at 30 yards.

  • Wind is not factored in. My guess is that if the wind were directly against you, your velocity would be reduced by that amount. But then you would have to involve a whole new set of equations that plot trajectory as a function of velocity.

  • That's given as an extra credit challenge problem!

    Basically involves two equations and two unknowns as I remember.

  • really disappointing... it doesn't tell you how they came up with the equation Y=-0.00077(X-28.5)+.626 it just says input the points??? How does that help me?
