o.k thanks. My Dunbar comes in the mail next Wed. Patience yes ! total excitement to start oh yah! Is there something I could start with while I am waiting? learning to read music perhaps? Anything online ?

Is the mouth peice a similar concept to a saxaphone?

Not even close. About the only similarity is that air goes through it. The reed is way down inside that bulging part.

Thanks for posting these videos ! nice clear instruction. I am waiting for my practice chanter in the mail. I am playing around on my husbands recorder for now, I can't wait!! I will be using your videos till I have my first meeeting with my instructor.

@manoharini umm. might as well put down the recorder now.. they are not the same in what you may be doing is actually creating some muscle memories that will need to be unlearned, before starting to learn those which are correct for the chanter. Patience... is essential here.
