Statement by Al Ghad coalition

The assassination of the scientific talents is another try from the regime to breakdown the Syrian peaceful revolution.

Homs has witnessed during the past two days killing accidents for some of the experts and famous scientific talents which remind us with the similar assassinations happened during the Eighties.
The recent assassinations included Doctor Hassan Eid, the head of the Thoracic Surgery Department at Homs National Hospital; Professor Ali Aqeel, Deputy Dean of Faculty of Architecture -- for Scientific Affair and Professor Nael Dakhil, Dean of Faculty of petrochemistry in the Al-Baath University. All assassinations were executed in the same way.
Al Ghad democratic coalition strongly condemns these terrible crimes and their perpetrators. It stresses that the regime is responsible for all the bloodshed in Syria. The regime has failed until now to create a sectarian strife in Homs and it's trying again now in a further brutal method, disregarding how important are the targeted expertise to the Syrian citizens and society. It seems that the regime is re-using the organised assassination scenario that mainly aims to incite sectarian, likewise what happened in 1979, and this is what many of the regime's spokespeople have hinted to on the stats media channels several times.
Al Ghad coalition calls the citizens of Homs and the Syrian people generally to avoid the wrong conclusions, and show the spirit of the combined national in order to miss the opportunity for the criminal regime who tries hard to take our revolution out from its peaceful path and split the consolidated Syrians rows against tyranny, dictatorship and renounce violence and sectarianism.
Finally we and all the Syrian people present most sincere condolences on this great loss from the families and friends of the three martyrs, and we assure that the revolution is continuing in its peaceful way to achieve its goals in toppling the regime, building the freedom, dignity and citizenship state and accounting the murders who shed the blood of the Syrians in inhuman crimes.
