For winter camping or the winter bug out, there is nothing better then a Pulk Sled to carry your gear. Winter camping demands more gear, that's just how it is, weight is a serious consideration, carrying upwards of 90 pounds on your back is really not fun. Enter the sled, any kind will do, but a Pulk is built so that it tracks behind you, lets you pull hands free and keeps it from running ya over going done hill. I used them before, always store bought, but that was many years ago, now I want one for all of us that are big enough to pull one. That's makes 9 of the buggers, 9 store bought ones is just to expensive, So.. I figure it's do it yourself time, found a site called www.skipulk.com, they offer an instruction pdf on how-to make several different kinds, from real inexpensive to really complicated. All the plans are very good and should make a sled that will last a very long time.
Here, with the help of the pdf and my know how, I make the first one of the set, hope ya enjoy it. In a couple days I will put part 2 up, on how I made the belt. later Ed.
I'm gonna make one for ice fishing!!
