I decided to make a bunch of quick videos tonight.
This is a slow reel/air called The Sleeping Tune. It is on The Half Tail album by Wolfstone, and was composed by Gordon Duncan.
As usual a bit sloppy, but what the heck. Hope you like it.

  • There is a link to the sheet music in the discription the the video. Looking forward to hearing your harp version : )

  • Nice tone and well playing, good job!!!By the way, i like this instrument sound!!! Where can i buy it!!! I live in MALAYSIA.

  • Thank you! I play a Chieftain Low D V3 in this video. Since you live in Malaysia, you probably have to get it from an online store.

  • try kerrywhistles(dot)com, hobgoblin(dot)com or larkinthemorning(dot)com.

  • My whistle is a D also. Thanks I will have a look at your copy of the music and see if it is the same

  • beautiful Scottish tune there

  • Fantastic! LOVELY! Beautiful! Augh - i wish i could play that! =]

  • Actually i have noticed that Wolfstone live does their songs in a key lower then the key they do their songs in on their cd's. They have done it on several songs like: Cleveland park, Gillies, Erin, etc. So my mistake, I was going off of the key they played Gillies in on their cd.

  • Also I love how you used the Guitar as a backing instrument in your version of Gilles.

  • The original key that that song is in is the key of "B." I have a B-Flat Whistle and Gillies is in a key about a sliver of the key of B-Flat higher. But Gillies is a song that sounds awesome in a low key.

  • im gonna try to play this on my uilleannpipes :)

i play from hearing, so thank you for the clear playing, i think this movie is the best quility for ear practisers!

i can already play it on my low and tinwhistle! ;)

    thanks!

  • GREAT!!! very sad and extremely "celtic" tone... really good job!

  • @d1v4dPwnz: the left pinky acts as a timing device
