It's been awhile ever since I've updated this account, but here's a surprise to, hopefully, compensate for my general absence.

Most may not know, but if you remember one of my previous game projects named "Runner", it had gone through a sudden stage of development. It's now known as "GlowStone", a retro-style action-adventure RPG, with a good amount of beat 'em up elements.

Some things here and there may seem off or incomplete, but this is all I can provide for the time being. Compared to Rem and any of my previous game development projects, I can assure you that this one will not meet a sudden end of development; I've been having too much fun working with Glowstone, so those who are interested can certainly except more out of this game in the future.


Update (1/4/11 - Alpha V1 FIX)

-Green card/PC-G disappearance glitch had been fixed
-Defense aptitude for all characters had been decreased
-Save points now heal HP completely of all party members, but will not recover KO'ed characters
-Boss fight is now generally less difficult
-New reward for those who finish the demo

Update (1/7/11 - Alpha V1 FIX 2)

-Jumping/Falling Blocks tutorial changed to be easier
-[ESC] key no longer quits the game, but serves as an alternative to open the in-game menu.
-Shining Specials or "Supers" for all characters ( Up + [C] )
-Lightened the background for BioLab, to make it easier spotting out G-Cats
-Status menu can now be accessed

  • This is crazy good considering this was made on game maker. I can hardly wait for a full version to come out. But, before I go, I need to say one thing, falling platforms are nearly impossible to jump off of. If you don't fix this, there will probably be a lot of complaints from a lot of people.

  • @Nechid I think it's just more of a matter of not having them fall off too early. It's been this way because it keeps players from being able to simply walk through them, which can be tested on the first room of the Training Exam. One more frame addition from its current rate already enables players to cheaply walk through the "broken bridge" bit.

    I'll be changing the fall rate of the floating falling platforms into a more forgiving rate.

    Though, the rate will be just about the same (the current, strict rate) in Adept. Most alpha testers can usually complete the strict jumping tutorial without much of a problem after a few appropriate practice runs, so it's nothing impossible once you get the timing down. Adept is made to be very difficult, so it's best for players to play under Average or Advance if the timing becomes really bothersome.

  • This is amazing. I love the feeling of this game. The music, the gameplay, the sound effects. They all fall in and make it feel very satisfying to watch and play.

I was really wanting to play with more characters, like Sora, but if not then that's okay. You did something nobody has or will ever do. Please keep up the good work! Subscribed for life!
