@twin2wo85 Finally a gentleman who is proud of being British, rather than spamming nationalistic Scottish/English/Welsh/even Cornish nonsense.
Hopefully you aren't one of those fellows who believes that the Brits won Waterloo alone though

@twin2wo85 I think we speak the same language as I too am proud of my english ancestry and respect the fighting spirit of the scots but the trouble is too few of the scots respect ourfighting spirit as demonstrated no better than @ dupplin muir in 1332 when 2500 english defeated a army of 12000 and made another scot army avaoid battle after it . .
Stirling bridge and bannockburn were english fu--ups just like flodden was a scots fuc--up

@twin2wo85 I take it that you are talking about the re-capture of Delhi from the rebels in india ?in the mutiny - regards .

What is the name of the first song? i love it!

the difference between this and stirling bridge is that edward 1st is there and keeps a tight control of the mounted cavalry under his command allowing english infantry to engage the scotish spearmen , this allowed the massed ranks of longbowmen to thin the scottish lines before the king commited the heavy cavalry to rout the scots with heavy losses - William Wallace escaped on horseback . if you want to know about a leader read about the " Bruce " or henry beaumont @ dupplin muir

@twin2wo85 totally agree with your coments .

That force consisted of an Irish General leading Scottish Highlanders with english training, equipment and understanding of warfare. That same force took Gawilghur (the strongest fortress in India which was built into a mountain) in 1803 with a handful of guns and ONE ladder.
Stop fighting and arguing, we form the greatest covenant of forces the world has ever seen.

The battle of Assaye in 1803 is a perfect example of British co-operation.
We beat and turned an army of 40,000 indian troops with a force of 7000 and that doesn't take into account the inbalance of guns.

As soon as the scots were incorporated into the british army they formed a very formidable unit on the battliefield.
At the end of the day I'm proud to be British and I'm proud that I'm English and I'm proud that we fight with the Scottish and I'm proud that our nature's work so well together.

As for the english vs scots argument:
The english throughout history have been successful because they have a good blend of all the factors that are important in warfare. They have come out on top in nearly every confrontation. That doesn't mean thier opponents were weak or inferior it just means in the wider scheme of things the englishmen's nature put him in the better position.

Hello all!
I never intended for this video to be historicaly accurate. I think if it was you would get bored while watching. The battle served as a foundation for the movie and I chipped in a few facts of the time to make it interesting and 'seem' authentic. My priority is to entertain people that watch it, not give a history lesson!
