S.R.I. - Challenging Traditions, Transforming Lives

System of Rice Intensification or S.R.I. is fast altering the lives of millions of farmers engaged in cultivation of rice. S.R.I. requires almost no standing water for the rice to grow and also increases the yield. Women have benefited the most from S.R.I. as this revolutionary method does away with the heavy labor associated with rice cultivation.

Usually relegated to toil in the rice fields besides working around their houses S.R.I. has not only transformed the lives of these women but also helped usher in a new dawn of women empowerment at the grassroots level.
