The Roads to Pure Michigan are Pure Hell! While this video is lighthearted, Michigan's crumbling roads and potholes are a very serious and growing problem for the state.
Unless lawmakers take quick action, the $84 million budget shortfall for the fiscal year starting Oct. 1 will effectively shelve road rehabilitation and bridge repair projects, which could generate thousands of jobs in a state hungry for them. Without that money, there won't be enough time to add new projects into the regional transportation plans and complete the necessary permits--especially for projects requiring advance notice for material delivery.
Michigan residents can learn more by visiting: www.drivemi.org or citizens can voice their concerns about road funding by calling a toll-free number -- 888-719-3087 -- set up by MTT. Callers simply enter their five-digit ZIP code to connect with their legislator's office.

I use to live in Monroe County and if I have to go there I dread it, I live in Branch County now, and very seldom if any will you have find a pothole here. In fact when company comes they say they can tell the difference when they enter Branch. In fact a few years ago they had run out of their alloted funds but fixed a road anyway. The way I understand is that the Road Commision owns it's own asphalt company and that's why our roads are kept up.

Plank Road, Milan Michigan.
50 mph speed limit.
You go more than 20 on that thing, your car might just explode.

A lot of those roads look like they're Monroe County roads!

that was awesome! Our farm is on Pier rd. in Hagar Township and after we asked about getting our street fixed someone joked, "It's been that way for 20 years. Good luck gettin' it fixed!". Friggin' bad roads!

Yeah now they r gonna raise taxes and car registration another 60 bucks per vehicle. Nice. People cry because their little green car with 12 inch tires get flats if they run over somethin bigger than a acorn
