The Roads to Pure Michigan are Pure Hell! While this video is lighthearted, Michigan's crumbling roads and potholes are a very serious and growing problem for the state.

Unless lawmakers take quick action, the $84 million budget shortfall for the fiscal year starting Oct. 1 will effectively shelve road rehabilitation and bridge repair projects, which could generate thousands of jobs in a state hungry for them. Without that money, there won't be enough time to add new projects into the regional transportation plans and complete the necessary permits--especially for projects requiring advance notice for material delivery.

Michigan residents can learn more by visiting: www.drivemi.org or citizens can voice their concerns about road funding by calling a toll-free number -- 888-719-3087 -- set up by MTT. Callers simply enter their five-digit ZIP code to connect with their legislator's office.

  • Yeah now they r gonna raise taxes and car registration another 60 bucks per vehicle. Nice. People cry because their little green car with 12 inch tires get flats if they run over somethin bigger than a acorn

  • @patriotofliberty1776

You think urban Michigan or even suburban Michigan has jobs? You're in for a big surprise.

  • @tra1215 I was just telling someone "Dodging Potholes" the new Olympic Sport!

  • Michigan roads are shit! I hate driving in that state!

  • Somethings never change here in Michigan !

  • What we don't do with holes in MI is fill them-hahahaha so true I don't even fix struts anymore fuck it i'll have to do it again next week

  • The 'rust belt.' Michigan is a crap hole. The idyllic farms are just a Potemkin facade for the urban wastelands like Flint and Detroit. Rural Michigan has no jobs, so the ambience of rural beauty is overshadowed by its poverty.

  • Bwah ha ha! I live in Indiana... this goes for us too!

  • the funding for roads absolutely cannot keep up with all the weird freezing/thawing that causes potholes. it is borderline impossible. they should recruit michiganders to drive through mine fields, i think they would do a pretty good job. lol

  • LOL! It's true. A huge part of driving in MI is navigating the potholes.
